5 Luxury apartments with underground car parking

You can’t make a delicious omelette without breaking eggs. This ambitious project required the demolition of the existing building to make way for a classically styled multi-residential development comprising five luxurious apartments with a basement car park.

Several challenges existed, primarily centred on height and neighbouring view loss. The building also needed to complement the surrounding federation-style character of the neighbourhood and form part of the streetscape, not work against it. The Playoust Churcher team set about designing a building that met the compliance and character requirements and delivered a multi-residential property that exceeded the developer’s expectations and created unparalleled livability for the occupants.

The outcome

The Aston is one of Cremorne’s most livable luxury apartment buildings in the North Beaches Council catchment. Each of the five apartments features an open-plan contemporary living with exceptional flow and light. The upper apartments have a view over Sydney Harbour, and they all enjoy expansive terraces for outdoor entertaining and enhanced indoor/outdoor connections. The building blends classically into the streetscape, and while its ostentatious interiors delight those lucky enough to live here, the exterior’s unobtrusive treatment and surrounding landscaping ensure its privacy and unpretentious character.
