Playoust Churcher Architects Quarterly Wrap Up
It has certainly been a busy few months for us here at Playoust Churcher. Our two newest team members – Marielise van der Merwe and Toni Phillips – have settled in well with the team. And we have certainly kept them busy with some very exciting projects underway.
We have welcomed new clients, both locally and from abroad, to work on a range of renovations, complete home builds and multi-residential developments across Sydney’s North Shore and Northern Beaches. And the second half of 2020 doesn’t look like slowing down.
We always aim to incorporate the original features of the home seamlessly with a design that enhances modern living… and that’s what we have done with the design for our clients at Roseville.
We have designed a rear addition to this period home with a significant focus on lifestyle and entertainment.
The new addition will include a games room and laundry as well as a spacious outdoor entertaining space around an external featured fireplace. We have kept the period detailing as a consistent feature throughout the addition.
This project will be completed later in 2020.
Southern Highlands retreat
Moving outside of Sydney to the serene Southern Highlands, we are working on a large-scale staged development, which is currently underway in the initial stage.
The first stage includes a new 20m pool with floating decks. The home has stunning views over the valley, so we have utilised the hillside to house the new gym, meditation space and ancillary services.
Upon completion of stage one, we will commence the second stage of the project, which includes a guest wing and parking.
New home in Freshwater
We work frequently in the Northern Beaches and look forward to building commencing on a new three-storey home in Freshwater this year.
We will be tendering for the project shortly.
This home has close proximity to the beach, so we have woven a coastal theme through the design concept to reflect this.
Upon completion, our clients will have a contemporary home with multiple living areas, four bedrooms, study and multi-car garage.
Beacon Hill SEPP Seniors living
Located near transport services, shops and the new Northern Beaches hospital will be a new development of four single-storey SEPP Seniors villas, a duplex and four units.
This is a luxury boutique development, designed to encourage a small community feeling. To enhance this, each dwelling has its own identity and individual entry through a landscaped garden walkway.
To cater to the SEPP Seniors market, all of the dwellings have double garages within the basement and are able to be fully adapted to cater for disability.
Chatswood luxury townhouses
We have recently received DA approval for six four-storey luxury townhouses in Chatswood.
The site for these townhouses is quite restrictive… so we drew on our design strengths to come up with a concept that would maximise the space and light within each townhouse. The complex will feature a central stair that drops light into each home as well as other design features that counter the limitations from the surrounding development.
We have incorporated ground floor courtyard areas as well as a rooftop living area, which takes advantage of the district views.
Draw on our design expertise
As a team of North Shore Architects, we have decades of experience in designing for the area. We work with our clients to bring their dream home vision to life, not stopping until they have the keys to their new home.
