Sugar Valley

Concept

The developer commissioned our skilled architects to re-design a proposed development site. This consisted of 100 individual houses, community facilities and a re-development of the existing golf course and clubhouse facilities.

As the golf course was adjacent to a creek, it was imperative to have a close working relationship not only with council and our consultants but also the Department of National Resources and Rural Fire Services.

An extensive re-design that encompassed a golf course, community facilities and 100 homes

Working alongside the local council to achieve project success

Creating individual living spaces that prioritise privacy and comfort

Our design fulfilled community needs

Council was very supportive of our new design, seeing that it fulfilled the community’s needs by providing additional accommodation for the over 55 age group as well as linking to the existing township of West Wallsend.

They were impressed with both the design of the individual houses and the surrounding amenity in terms of separation, landscaping and privacy.

Incorporating sustainable initiatives

The plan included sustainable initiatives such as grey water recycling and energy efficient designs, which the council also supported.

Our sustainable green program ensured the development obtained a 5-star NaTHERS (Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme) rating. With careful co-ordination and detailed design, council granted approval in just three months.
