Queenscliff No 1

Image

Originally a Spanish style residence, this project has been transformed by the reconfiguration of the ground floor and addition of a new garage and first floor.

The resulting new 3 storey contemporary residence captures extensive views of Queenscliff beach and lagoon and integrates well with an existing pool to the side of the house. A contemporary version of the timber pergola is used to temper the western sun and define the external terrace space.

“Playoust Churcher designed my home in 2000 and I was very impressed that we could work together to design a home that was full of great features, within our budget and that we had a smooth passage through council.”

“Playoust Churcher also re-developed a Queenscliff Road small unit block. You designed a fantastic looking building with an additional room in a roof concept that was technically a floor higher than was allowed. Warringah council staff agreed that if you could design something with architectural merit they would consider it.

When we had a pre-DA meeting the council staff simply reacted by saying it looked fantastic. We had no complaints from neighbors on view loss and it sailed straight through council. Equally impressive is we had 4 individual unrelated unit owners and you and your staff impressed all four. There was never a query from any of them when it came time to pay the invoices.”
