Working largely within the existing footprint, the design aimed to create better physical and visual connections to both the front and rear yards whilst updating the home overall. The existing front façade lacked any style so the brief was to create a more harmonious composition
Key design elements involved a new north facing courtyard which slots neatly between the main residence and a new kids/games room which was previously a garage. The courtyard now allows northern light into the living room whilst gaining views over the bushland
Sharon and Kwan purchased their 1930s Pymble home with the aim to renovate. The home had good bones but features such as an external laundry and narrow garage meant that the home needed an upgrade for modern family living.
