This project comprises 3 luxury townhouses on a narrow site in Balgowlah.
Each townhouse included 3 bedrooms, study, open plan kitchen, meals, family room, double garage and generous outdoor entertaining spaces.
The design concept was to create a clear identity for each townhouse, whilst developing a clear definition between public and private spaces.
This was achieved by designing solid tower elements at the entry then once inside these private spaces, opening through to the more transparent living spaces, which in turn flowed seamlessly onto private external spaces.
Privacy for each townhouse was achieved by careful screening and orientation of the various spaces.
Environmental design considerations were incorporated into the design by creating double height foyers with clerestory glazing allowing light to penetrate into the rear of the townhouses as well as allowing for air flow and cross ventilation throughout both levels.
Sharon and Kwan purchased their 1930s Pymble home with the aim to renovate. The home had good bones but features such as an external laundry and narrow garage meant that the home needed an upgrade for modern family living.
Bill is a developer with many years of experience in medium density housing. He has worked on a wide range of projects but in recent years his focus has been on SEPP Seniors living.
Lisa is a keen gardener. In fact her passion was so great that she left her career in corporate insolvency to move into landscape design. So when she renovated her 6500m2 estate in St Ives, she started with the garden.
