Medusa Mosman

Middle Harbour

Concept

This beautiful Mosman residence required a major transformation that saw Playoust Churcher completely remodel the rear of the residence over three levels.

The existing design featured an awkward lack of access to the rear balconies, rendering those spaces largely useless.

All three levels of this beautiful home underwent major transformation.

Reintroducing the rear balconies as stylish entertaining spaces

The raked ceilings allow for a stunning view of the nearby harbour.

Balcony access with a harbour view

Playoust Churcher Architects addressed this poor initial design by pushing the building outwards, with the key goal of creating a useable dining room on the top level.

We designed a coffered and raked ceiling on this top level that maximised both the available space and the magnificent harbour views.

A picturesque indoor/outdoor living area

Flowing on from the beautiful dining space, we took the design onto an enlarged living area and rear outdoor terrace to gift our clients with spacious indoor/outdoor living – complete with glass and timber slatted roofing and a concealed BBQ zone.

Repeating the theme of open space and flow down each level, we opted to excavate on the lower ground floor and take the design further down over the rear yard and pool.
