Curl Curl

Concept

Designing for this Curl Curl residence presented considerable challenges, particularly with the steep gradient of the site, the south-facing orientation and the close proximity to neighbouring properties, just to name a few.

Our skilled architects had to uncover ways to achieve welcoming entertainment spaces that maximised the views, while maintaining privacy within the home.

Overcoming a steep gradient to achieving project success

Incorporating views with maintained privacy

Split-level spaces that promote leisure and relaxation

Sunlit split levels

We incorporated a split level into the design, including a pool courtyard that offers a private outdoor entertaining and leisure space while allowing for ocean views from multiple spaces throughout the residence.

Winning council setbacks with success

While complying with council’s setback controls, this split level concept maximises the width of spaces and allows sunlight to flood through to the living and bedroom areas located on the southern side of the house.

The floating roof with highlight glazing allows the northern light into the interior of the property as well, while still valuing and protecting privacy.
